'Sonobe'

This is a model of an origami that is made from the Sonobe unit.  There are many different styles of Sonobe units that can be assembled to form different looking models.  Each unit is folded identically and then fit together to form the modular 3D shape. This intricate ball is assembled from 6 identical Sonobe units.  Paint has been applied to assist in creating the three dimensional appearance.  This Sonobe model is my favourite origami to make, I have assembled hundreds of them.
